LINCOLN — A 52-year-old Columbus man charged with two counts of child sexual assault is being held in jail in Lancaster County on a $500,000 percentage bond.
Bruce M. Jones is alleged to have inappropriately touched a 10-year-old girl at a home near Firth in November, according to the affidavit for his arrest. The victim alleges the contact was ongoing over several years.
Lincoln Officer Katie Flood said a 10-year-old cousin to the girl alleged the same man touched her inappropriately, too, and has over a period of time.
He is a relative to both girls.
Jones was arrested Monday in Columbus and brought to Lincoln.
According to court records, the Platte County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbus Police Department are looking into allegations that he touched young girls there, too.
Should Jones post $50,000, he is to have no contact with any child under 16 as part of his bond.
