Do you have locked boxes?

I'm looking for a new printer, what do you recommend?

The printer you select should be based on several criteria: How many prints you expect to make per month, Do you have a need for color prints, are you planning on using special paper sizes? The key is the number of prints per month, generally the higher the volume the more advantageous it is to purchase a more expensive printer because the operational costs are typically less than for an inexpensive printer. Most users will spend far more on printer supplies then they will spend for the printer. Eakes can help you to determine the best choice after consulting with you on your needs. We are looking for a nice, ergonomic office/computer chair for our son's computer desk. He spends countless hours a day at his computer, and is currently using a folding chair, which can't be good for his back. Do you have a good selction of office/computer chairs?

Thanks for your question. Yes, we have a large variety of chairs for you to choose from. We offer many options of features, colors, and pricing. I would recommend that your son come into the store and we can fit the chair based on how he uses the chair, his body size, and what budget you want to stay within. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00-5:30 and Saturdays from 9:00-1:00.

I need new ink for my Epson that I have at home. It will not operate if any of the colors are out even if I just want to print with black ink. I guess you can say that I'm being cheap because ink is so expensive. I've noticed that I can buy a new printer for less than buying new ink. Do you think I would be better off doing that and donating the old printer to Goodwill?

You raise a good question. The price of printers has fallen greatly recently, but you should know that many of the intial toner supplies included with new machines have a smaller ink supply than the replacement cartridges. When comparing pricing you should look at the ink capacity on your Epson cartridge vs. the cartridge that comes with the new printer. At Eakes we offer Epson cartridges as well as cartridges from other leading printer manufacturers such as Hewlett Packard and Lexmark and can help you with your decision. Thanks for your question.

My sister-in-law is getting married this summer. She is thinking of having a video done, but I know that can be extremely expensive. I'm trying to talk her into having a friend record the event and having special touches done herself. Do you have any services that would help her? i.e. DVD burning and duplication, cd label printing... how much do these services cost?

We are remodeling our home and I noticed that you do office design and layouts. Do you do this for business only or will you look at my house?

Of course our main emphasis is on providing space planning for businesses, but our designers have also done some home office layouts. All of our designers are college educated ASID designers and have had home interiors training while in college. We offer AutoCad drawings so you can easily visualize from these 3-D drawings how your space will look and function. Eakes represents a wide variety of furniture manufacturers that specialize in office interiors that will meet any budget, and most of our vendors also offer home office selections. Do you service printers/copiers that were not initially purchased at your store?

We mainly service Sharp, Hewlett-Packard, Lexmark, Brother, and Epson printers and copiers. If you have a product manufactured by one of these companies we offer service regardless of where it was purchased. We may also be able to service other brands, please let us know what brand you need service on and we will do our best to help.

I've noticed that Columbus does not have a lot in the way of scrapbooking material. Someone told me I might try at Eakes. Do you offer anything in that field?

We do have quite a bit by way of scrapbooking. We carry a small selection of 12 X 12 paper, adhesives, embellishments, albums and paper kits. We get new product about once a month, but we have quite a few newer items at the moment such as shirt labels, guitar picks and taperunners. Is there a certain item that you were wanting to know about? I can always get more information for you from our purchasers if you like. Please let me know if you need anything else from me.

If I were to bring something into get scanned would I be able to print several copies as well as get it saved to a disk or CD? Also...does the customer need to provide the disk or CD? Is this an expensive service?

Yes, you can bring in a text copy and get it scanned to either a disk or CD. The cost to scan text/graphics to a disk is $6.99 which includes the disk. The cost to scan text/graphics to a CD is $8.99 which includes the CD.

Do you provide computer services such as internet access in the store? i.e. Charge X amount an hour to use the internet.

The computer services Eakes offers are:
1. Printing from disk/CD/USB drive
2. Scanning of text/graphics to customer e-mail
3. Scanned text/graphics saved to disk
4. Scanned text/graphics burned to CD
5. Scan text to OCR
6. CD copying
7. Diskette copying
8. Address Label setup
At this time we do not offer internet access for our customers. We will however consider that service for our customers, thanks for your question!

I have a home business and I need something for faxes, copies etc. I don't want a smaller machine, but I also do not want a larger machine. Is there something in the middle?

Yes, there are now many sizes of multi-function machines available to meet most any needs a person or business might have. The key is what funtions you need, how much volume you predict you will have on the machine, and if you have any space restrictions. Generally the less expensive the machine is, the more expensive it is to operate. To get the best value you need to analyze the tradeoff between purchase cost and operating costs. LEGAL SIZE: 1-10 sheets: $1.39; 11-20 sheets: $1.29; 21-30 sheets: $1.29
MENU SIZE (11X17):1-10 sheets: $1.59; 11-20 sheets: $1.49; 21-30 sheets: $1.39
