COLUMBUS -- Coach Damon Vogt couldn’t have asked for a better start.
After being ranked No. 25 in the National Junior College Athletic Associations’ preseason poll, the Central Community College men’s basketball team opened its season by winning both its games in the Pinnacle Bank Classic Friday and Saturday.
The Raiders began with a 113-74 win Friday against Concordia Community College and defeated the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture 122-59 Saturday.
“We’ve been practicing so hard and been beating up on each other it was nice to get out and hang some points on the board and get everyone some time,” Vogt said. “We were ready to play. The men were chomping at the bit and ready to go. We played one of the better halves that I have ever seen here.”
