Hundreds gathered at Platte County Agricultural Park for the many “tastes” of Columbus Sunday evening, Oct. 18. Pictured at right is Randi Williams who shared the bounty with her husband, Doug. The community beneficiary of the Chamber of Commerce event was the Higgins Memorial. Prior to the event, a gathering of veterans was addressed by Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy and Col. Philip Stemple of the 67th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade. Stemple’s troops will be deployed to Iraq following a training period. A silent and live auction also was held.
