MALCOLM -- The David City volleyball team’s season came to an end Monday in the Class C1-5 Subdistrict Tournament. The Scouts began the day with a 20-25, 25-13, 25-11, 25-15 win over Raymond Central before losing to Bishop Neumann 25-12, 25-15, 25-19.
Against Bishop Neumann, David City held a 14-8 lead in the third set after Kala Kovar served four-straight ace serves. Neumann bounced back to tie the set at 19-all, and cruised to the victory from there.
Kovar had five kills, four ace serves and nine digs to lead the Scouts, while Kacy Sutton had 14 set assists.
