COLUMBUS -- Centro Hispano Comunitario de Nebraska hosted the third annual Information Day Sunday at the First United Methodist Church, focusing on post-secondary information, the H1N1 virus, the 2010 U.S. Census process and participation, civil rights, and immigration issues.
Centro Hispano Comunitario de Nebraska began as an effort to disseminate information about Columbus Public Schools and initiate parental involvement among the Hispanic community.
Since then the focus has expanded as has participation by local and statewide organizations.
More than 70 people attended the event, which was presented in Spanish with English translation.
