Where now the Huskers

Monday, Oct 19, 2009 - 08:43:27 am CDT

Saturday's debacle was worse than even the least faithful could have predicted. What do you think the problem is?

Still a HUsker fan

Our huskers still has a ways to go. I believe they will get. I am sure Bo and his coaching staff did have a meeting with Dr. Tom. After the first score in the game by the Tex. Tech. It appeared the coaching staff were not able to get the player focused on the game. They were having issues among themselves, not good. Lead by the example one sets for other to follow by. Bo is still the right person and I still beleive in him and that he will do the right thing for his team.

Easy its the offense if you cant score you cant win.
Top two things on the list
Oct 19, 2009 11:45 AM
Get rid of S Watson and concentrate on Cody Green instead of Zac Lee for quarterback.

These two things must be done if the Huskers are to have an offense next year.

Offense!!! Offense!!! Offense!!!

I think that S Watson has a great deal to do with it because he is calling the plays. He has to put the players in a position to be successful but on the other hand, it is still up to the players to execute!! I see a lot of weakness in the way the offensive line is playing as well. I think that Zac Lee is feeling the pressure for the offense sputtering ( Gillylen dropped ball, Niles Paul fumble and not pursuing the recovery, recievers dropping the pass, etc... ) and is trying to do way more than he is capable of. The other players have to rally up with him and HUSKER up to make things happen as he is only one player in a team oriented sport!!! Cody Green is still young and you can expect him to make mistakes to learn from as well. The defense played well but just got tired out and maybe a little let down because of the sputtering offense towards the end of the game.

Nothing; Neb is just not where they want to be right now-it will take time. Tex Tech is also a good team with the replacement quarterback.

I really believe that a team's performance reflects the personality of the head coach. This team and last year's team are do reflect the personality of Coach Bo. They are inconsistent, show emotion on the field at the wrong time and place and thus are making little if any progress in their development. I seriously doubt if Bo could or will ever have a better year than last year.
People...here is the answer

I can not say this to you any clearer. I have said it repeatedly on this website. I have repeated it ad nauseum to anybody who asks me. But, I shall say it one more time:

Athletes that are competitive at the Division 1 title level ARE NO LONGER INTERESTED IN HUSKER FOOTBALL!

ANd, on a side not, what 18 year old high school senior would want to play for a gum chomping, arrogant, hot-headed, player-hitting, classless clown like Bo Pelini?

The times aren't a-changin' Nebraska. Your days of dominance are over.
MIKE

Get a clue. Your remarks are rude and do not represent what the great state of Ne are about. They will be BACK with Bo as head coach. GO HUSKERS
Got Big Red
Oct 21, 2009 9:33 AM
The problem here is who they play. This weekend will be a win cause it's another "little sisters of the poor team". Then all will be happy for another week. Nebraska can not run with the big dogs anymore! Pelini's future recruits are going to be average to poor at best. Any player of a high caliber will not want to be playing at Nebraska! They will want to go to a winner. Mark my word, this is the way it is folks. Sorry, but "Got Big Red"
Really
Oct 21, 2009 10:46 AM
To Mike: I have to say that being rude and hateful is not part of being a true Nebraskan. Just watch how Bo treats not only 1.) His players
2.) His coaches
3.) The Refs
4.) The media
Please open your eyes and tell me how he treats them. Bo does not treat these people with respect and
THAT MIKE IS NOT NEBRASKA FOOTBALL
Grow up dude
Oct 21, 2009 9:13 PM
Bo needs to act like a grown up in charge coach and not a little pouty boy when things don't go his way. Oh, BTW schedule tougher non confernece games. Reality kills when you enter the big 12 having played the "tough" sun belt league.....
pathetic
Oct 21, 2009 9:37 PM
to fanfromafar: are you like a 9 or 10 year old analyst from colorado because your predictions are horrible every week. do you know what husker football is? ill bet ya nebraska has a better year then last year THIS season! your funny. keep the posts coming
you know
Oct 21, 2009 9:43 PM
to fanfromafar:
Bo is never going to have a better season then last year? lets see last year at this time we were 3-3. this year we are 4-2. good luck with your prediction buddy!

Here's the Deal ( a great band, too): Go back to the option a la 1981 until we got fooled by Steve Pedersen.

Did you see what Georgia Tech did to VA Tech with this offense, and with very little talent backing it up?

Nobody uses it anymore. Nobody will be ready to play us. We will automatically get the best option qb in the nation every year by default. Imagine a perpetual Tommy Frazier in Lincoln.

The national championships will stack up like pancakes at Happy Chef.

"you know - lets see last year at this time we were 3-3. this year we are 4-2"

yep its an improvement. beating the teams your supposed to beat and losing the ones your supposed to lose.

by the way it looks like missouri, the biggest win this year for nebraska, is going to be 0-3 in the big 12 by the end of this weekend.
and with VT struggling against duke and getting destroyed by GT, nebraskas season just keeps getting more impressive.

Good Ole U. They have become the laughing stock of not only the Big 12 but the whole NCAA. We owe it all to BO. His sideline rants are classless. People are starting to take notice of his verbal abuse towards the refs and his own players and coaching staff. If you are a husker fan and deny this then you need to take off the blinders and realize what is going on.

I agree bo needs to look at himself and clean up his act. I dont think NE football will ever be up to what it was for awhile that is if it ever will be. Also, bo is starting to sound like callahan in his press conf. after the games.
To Clown
Oct 23, 2009 3:59 PM
You hit the nail on the head! I tend to look and see what Bo Bo the clown is doing after every play rather than the play itself. The guy doesn't have a clue. He needs to take some classes in behavioral science. What a fool hge makes of himself and the University!!

LAST WEEKS GAME WASNT REAL GREAT. I THINK THAT WE NEED TO KEEP CODY GREEN IN AND NO MORE ZAC LEE. OR AT LEASE UNTIL HE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT HE'S DOING.
TO People...here is the answer
Oct 23, 2009 4:54 PM
YOU CAN'T EVEN TYPE AND SPELL CORRECTLY SO THAT'S PROBABLY WHY NOONE LISTENS TO WHAT YOU POST OF THIS WEBSITE! BO PELINI IS GREAT FOR THE HUSKERS. WILL JUST TAKE TIME TO GET US BACK TO WHERE WE USED TO BE AND YOU ARE WRONG. VERY SOON WE WILL BE DOMINANT AGAIN! CAN'T WAIT TO PROVE YOU WRONG.
Bo
Oct 23, 2009 4:59 PM
Bo's press conferences are a joke. The Local media throws him softball questions and is afraid of him. This guy is a real Joke. It is funny how people say he has fire and passion for the job. If you were to take Bo and put him on another team in the Big 12, Husker fans would talk about how much of a jerk he is and how his behavior is horrible. Since Bo is a husker, people won't talk negative about him. What a joke.
Give Green a chance
Oct 23, 2009 7:53 PM
I think that Green needs to have a chance at the job of qb. Alls I can say is that it was a good thing that Keller got hurt or Ganz would have not gotten his chance, look what he did for the BIG RED. Look at Colt McCoy, he has been starting for 4 yrs. Lee prob. wouldn't be starting at all if Witt wouldn't have walked. Besides that does Green look 18??? Not to me doesn't, surely he can't do any worse. Get him started now so we have a qb for more that a year. Not only that, I also believe in Bo Bo as some of you refer to him. I can only image his frustration when everybody knows that the refs are calling REALLY bad calls. All you none believers will be jumping on the band wagon when we again rise to the top. GO BIG RED

You anti-Bo bozos need to remember that many Husker? fans back in the late 60's were calling for Devaney's head and wanted Osborne out in the early 90's, as it turned out, they.....well you be the judge. 70-71-94-95-97 NC

you all should start thinking about the bowl eligibility of your worthless team. If you lose to ISU AT HOME, there are NO, I repeat NO, sure things anymore.
very emotional
Oct 26, 2009 12:42 PM
Lets call frank solich back. He was taken for granted by the whole state of Nebraska. Having a 9-3 record in the BIG XII is fantastic. Steve Pedersen was a baby. I lay these last 6 years all on him. He was as good of coach as we will ever see other than Tom Osborne and Bob Devaney. Does anyone know what Frank Solich's record was in his years as coach of Nebraska? Well I can tell you it is 58-19. Are you kidding me we actually fired him. We need a coach who has played for Nebraska and knows the tradition just like Frank Solich. For Pelini to say that the fans will turn on him this past week, what a cocky arrogant comment. Get a clue BO, this is Nebraska.
P.S What is Callahan's cell number?

I know the Huskers will be back and all those who ever doubted Bo will be sorry. Seriously open your eyes. This team is horrible. This reflects the coach. You people can predict the huskers will be on top in 2 years. I have a prediction that this coach has 2 years left and he is gone. I KNOW-BO BIG RED.
Go root for Platte
Oct 26, 2009 3:18 PM
Seriously, why even waste your gas anymore to drive to Lincoln to root for these guys? The Huskers are terrible. The coaching is terrible. And, most importantly (again the elephant in the room that nobody wants to talk about): THE TALENT OF ATHLETE THAT GOES TO NEBRASKA IS IN NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM COMPETITIVE AT THE DIVISION 1 TITLE LEVEL. A step above average at best (minus one star defender).
