COLUMBUS -- A federal indictment accuses a Columbus couple of making false statements over a 12-year period while they were conspiring to fraudulently receive Social Security payments.
Edna Heft, 59, and Ronald Heft, 62, were indicted on four counts of making false statements to the Social Security Administration beginning in March 1997 and continuing through July of this year.
The indictment was announced Thursday by U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg’s office in Omaha.
A spokesman for the federal prosecutor’s office said Thursday the indictment does not list a dollar figure for how much money the Hefts are accused of receiving through fraudulent statements.

Dear Wondering; You need not worry about any more of these cheating rascals.
The Social Security security system is at work, and has caught the scoundrels.
All is now well.
By the way, there is a pending law before Congress that will make it a crime to steal money.
This law will put an end to theft.
Why didn't anybody think of this before now?
