How 'bout them Huskers?

Friday, Oct 09, 2009 - 08:00:20 am CDT

The Huskers shook off a lousy offensive start to win with four touchdowns in the fourth quarter. What say you know fans and doubters?

I'm stunned. I gave up on 'em at the end of the 3rd quarter and went to bed.

Yeah, I'm a fair weather fan.

Great win Huskers!

Did you mean "What say you NOW, fans and doubters?" Just checking. ;-)

Great win, Red! Nicely done! Y'know, in the last quarter. The first three--PU! But a nice win all the same!

First time I have seen them this year. What a great looking defense. Not sure what happened to the Mizzou D. They just quit. Now if we could do something about that gum chomping bozo in the sweatshirt!

Please do us all a favor and make this the last Husker game you ever watch. You obviously do not have a clue whats going on.

jr: Further hint -- Not talking about Osborne. Talking about the one who screams and pushes players. Is the pix getting clearer for you?
Henry: I do not think little Bo P. got the defense "that way". So when they win the Coach gets the credit and when they lose the players get the blame. So glad I'm afar.

Who do you think got the defense "that way"......Cosgrove? The players love and respect Bo. You ever been to a practice?

Thank you Henry. Now that I know the players "love and respect Bo" I have been totally shouted down and apologize from the depth of pitiful existence for misreading the "Husker" experience.

I hear people calling for Bo to give the defense the black shirts back and I can get behind that.

Can we now take away the red shirts from the offense for the horrible, sloppy, penalty laden way they have played all season.

Lucky to live off the defense, if it wasn't for the offensive penalties Nebraska would have had a win over, now #5 Virginia Tech.

Go Blackshirts!!!

Get your poop in a group offense.

What does it matter if fanfromafar is related to Bill Callahan? By the way I am and he is a great coach! He would have done a lot better while coaching the Huskers if Steve Pedersen would have gotten canned before Bill did.

no doubt nebraska will be national champs after that huge win over missouri, just look at who missouri beat, illinois, bowling green, and then they upset furman and nevada. corndogs all the way for sure

Im just speaking 4 myself, but college football is awesome. And it does'nt matter who we are playing or even if we're not. Ijust enjoy college football. FYI: there is already talk down here about the upcoming TX teams and NE playing. They will need 2 kick it up a couple notches, thats 4 sure.

chong- wow thats the goal, i was thinking a little higher, maybe a bcs game but if being the best out of the north is all, thats fine with me.

Lets just concentrate on the big 12 north for now. Anything beyond would just be icing on the cake. Believe me, just like any other huge Husker fan, I go into each season thinking we can win the National Championship.

Wow Big Husker Fan, you sure don't do much to defend the Huskers when someone is bashing them. Must not be much of a fan. I bet that you switch teams when the Huskers are not doing very well. To top it off you probably even root for the Iowa State Cylcones!
funny stuff

wtb: your right, we should expect every 2nd year coach to get to a bcs bowl game. you should be an analyst or something :D

funny stuff- its not that hard, all they have to do is win the big 12 and their in a bcs game, and like i said before the big 12 is down this year, nu has a real good shot. looks like i have more faith than actual nebraska fans.

Huskers are where they should be
Oct 12, 2009 9:49 AM
The huskers are ranked where they should be, if not a little low. VT doesn't deserve to be where they are at as well as Iowa, they both suck and have yet to put up convincing wins against anyone.

You people.....they beat up three JV football teams from the Sun Belt, lost to a Top 20 team that played its worst game in years, and squeeked by an equally mediocre team with a one legged QB in Columbia.

How about them Huskers? They're average. They are painfully, painfully average. At best.

The entire Big 12 North is worthless.

Fanfromafar; all you need to do is watch a game from the last year Callahan and Cosgrove were there and compare it to this year and you will be eating crow about your comments about Bo and the defense. So what if Bo chews gum, so what if he wears a sweatshirt? What should he do and what should he wear in your book?

Getting the job done is what counts and by George, Bo is doing a good job of getting it going. Give him two or three more years max and I truly believe we will be in the running for a national championship run again.

PS: I really wish Callahan would have been a success and I do think he did do some good stuff for the Huskers like get them out of the later 1980's Frankie had drug them into again (you know, the dust bowl, i.e. run up the middle twice, throw, intercepted or punt). Pederson was nothing but a large mistake-period.

I do have concerns about S Watson though.

You could see them turning around in the second quarter and turning up the heat about the middle of the third. They waited until the fourth to unleash the fury. I would say this was the best strategy. Why let them know what you're up to until it's too late for them to react? Expect more of the same only in a different order. Nothing is more frustrating for the opposition than trying to second guess the first guess.

Way to defend the Huskers Big Husker Fan! You are just like the rest of the pretenders, only like the Huskers when they are doing good. It would be best for you to stop making your little attempts to get people stirred up.

You have one bright spot on the team. The Suh kid is the real deal. He'll be getting paid.

The rest? Absolutely middle-of-the-road average.

Well, the kicker isn't bad, I guess.....

Let's face it, Steve Pedersen and Bill Callahan were a disaster for the program and the state. Absolutely a disaster, and the record shows a great many of us all over it within a mere month or two from SP's hiring.

More importantly, we have learned that it is never too late to fix a mistake, chart a new course, bury the hatchet, and fight on.

The Huskers are back. I don't mean necessarily in terms of wins and losses, but that may come. But they are definitely worth cheering for and as viscious and brutal than ever. And they represenet the state well again. That my friends, is what Old T.O. meant by "More Than Winning".
