PRIMROSE, Neb. (AP) — A Columbus woman who crashed her motorcycle off a two-lane rural highway in north-central Nebraska died later at a hospital.

Boone County Sheriff Dave Spiegel said Monday that 49-year-old Sandra Sliva crashed around 1:30 Saturday afternoon about a half-mile north of Primrose on state Highway 52.

Spiegel said Sliva lost control of her Harley-Davidson after it left the pavement. He said there is no shoulder along that stretch of highway.

Sliva was taken to Boone County Health Center in Albion, where she was pronounced dead.

The sheriff said Sliva was wearing a helmet.

Sandy was a great person and always a safe rider. This kind of thing could happen to anyone of us riders and it is so sad it happened to her. I am going to miss riding with her on Thursdays and on many poker runs. The family now knows how many people loved her and what great friends the Sliva family has. My prayers are with you!
