A shiny, black removable hardtop MGA.
The front of the car was loooong, and the whole machine sat low to the ground. Sexy. It turned on a dime. Worst part?
Same car--No door locks, wire wheels had to be trued, batteries were under the seat. Someone liked it as much or more than I did. It was stolen.

My favorite car is a crushed BMW. Least favorite is a 60's Muscle car that has rusted beyond repair. I would still take a rusty Muscle car over a new BMW.

Best-1965 Ford Mustang convertible, maroon with a black top and black interior. Very dependable and a lot of fun to drive.

Worst-1975 AMC Pacer, bright yellow. The steering rack and door hinges went bad within a month after I bought it. Then the electical system started acting up. The exhaust rusted out before it was a year old. I bought the car because my wife thought it looked cool.

Best Vehcile: My 2001 Honda Civic. It just rolled over to 150,000 miles and runs like a new car. It also gets 35 MPG! Also my 1993 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup Truck. It still runs with 176,000 miles on it.

Worst Vehicle: 1979 Dodge Pickup Truck. Piece of junk. It should have went to the crusher.

The best cars were in the 60's and early 70's when you could still tell what make it was a block away. Now I have to look at the emblem on the car to know if it's domestic or foreign. At least today we still have the Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger and Charger. I hope we see more retro cars in the future. The worst cars are the ones that are so ugly you can't tell the front from the back.

Best Car-Mustang. There's a reason "everybody in Columbus" has one. It's called cool.

Worst Car-Corvette ZO6. It brings out the worst in blowhards who wish they had one.

and in more ways than one

To agree with clint:

Neither one of you guys get it. Just because a car is less expensive doesn't mean it's cheaper. The Mustang is a better deal for the money than the overpriced overhyped Z06.

But then I don't expect either one of you to understand. You would have to own a real car to be able to do that.

The new mustangs are great and get better looking every year but I would still rather have a Vette especially a Z06. (and I probably would be a big blowhard if I had one)

OK - so my favorite car WAS my Toyota Camry. It's making a wierd vibration and noise when I brake. Took it to Ernst and they said it was an "intake manifold" = $625.00. It only has 45k mile on it so I didn't think that could be it. So I trusted them and had it replaced today - still doing the same thing!!!! Do you think I should be liable for this if it is not fixed. Now they will fix the REAL problem and tell me it was the manifold. What do I do. I'm taking it in AGAIN at 4 but I know I will lose the battle.

Best car I ever owned- LT4 Corvette. For that matter any Corvette. I'm kinda partial to the 72 and earlier for the older models or the LT1 and up cars for the newer ones. If I hit the lottery I'm thinking new 638HP ZR1!

Worst thing I ever drove- 88 Ford pickup.

Best vehicles: Toyotas and Hondas hands down. Love my 4x4 Toyota Truck. It has 200,000 miles on it and counting. My Honda Accord is getting close to 300,000.

Worst Vehicles: Anything Ford, GM, or Chrysler produces. Muscle cars, trucks, economy cars, you name it. All their vehicles are junk the moment they roll off the assembly line.
Walk a 1000 miles
Jul 12, 2009 11:15 AM
Anyone who thinks one car/truck is better than the next needs to get some perspective. Cars are just machines built to do one thing - to move you lazy butt from one point to another. Trucks on the other hand have a dual purpose, but most of the time they are used for the same purpose as a car, so I am lumping them together. So big, little, rusty, etc. it's all up to you. If want to drop a wad of your hard earned income for the car of your dreams and then add a chromium plated, fully illuminated, high performance shift knob on sale at ____________ (insert your fav store here) then so be it, I could care less .......

The reason so many people own Ford Mustangs is that they're cool and one of the best bargains you can find in the automobile market unlike the overpriced Corvette ZO6, produced by a company that had to ask the govt for a bailout and still had to file for bankrukptcy. People like "Ford problems circled" who drive their mom's minivans just don't understand.

Be on the look out mustang boys my 08 Z06 arives in two weeks i will be heading up to columbus to hit the streets. I dont think any of you guys will keep up with me as this car is also geting a supercharger. This car will be making 700hp at the crank. And will run mid tens in the quarter. Its a 2008 with 650 miles. Maybe the car is overpriced but at least you wont see 5 at every stop light in columbus. Like i said i will be in columbus in 2 weeks with this bad boy so pull me over.

To Z06 this:

I take it you own a mustang? I just dont understand why you would want a car that everyone else has. I also have a 2001 Trans Am ws6 and you dont see to many of them around. Im just saying i would rather have a car that is more rare. I understand mustangs are priced great but you wont ever see me buying one.
camaro
Jul 12, 2009 8:00 PM
chevy camaro.

especially the early 70's split bumper models.

i have never been a ford man, but no one can deny that ford did a great job with the retro mustangs. as much as I love my chevy's, i about **** when I seen the new camaro unveiled in detroit. it looks more like a 'cuda than a camaro.

i still like to make fun of fords and dodges, but they did a much better job with their retro's than chevy.

Yeah right Clint. We'll be watching for you...and laughing our butts off when we see you driving your mommy's Chrysler Sebring or Chevy Malibu. And that WS6 Trans Am? Most likely your daddy's Impala or Voyager minivan. The great thing about these forums is that you can pretend to be or drive anything you want. I can spot a poser a mile away and you are a poser.

By the way, I don't own a Mustang. I just get annoyed with posers knocking a car they know nothing about.

ZO6 this, you are comparing a mustang to a higher class of a car. Its like comparing a Mustang to a GSR integra. Compare it to a Camaro or Trans am and still the Camaro or trans am thats in the same class is still faster bone stock than a mustang. Ford may not have filed bankruptcy but they to were begging for bail outs and got some money but also dont make as much as GM or TOYOTA in sales! And for your info i dont drive my moms mini van since she drives a SSEI bonnevile and i drive a STS cady Seville. My sister has a GT mustang with performance upgrades and my cady walks it all day. So i do understand. If possible look at really why most people buy mustangs: CHEAP sports car for people who want a car with more than 280hp. Also if i recall the new Camaro and Mustang comparison in Motor trend states that the mustang is different on the outside but the same on the inside as far as using the same engine for the last decade and solid rear axle. The Camaro has more power than ever and kicks both mustang and Challengers but in speed and handling! Plus even the Camaro V6 is faster than the Mustang V6. Cost is about the same too.

Listening to posers like "Ford Problems Circled" and Clint is actually very amusing. I wonder if either of them will grow up and admit they still live at home with mom and dad and drive Caravans, Voyagers, Sebrings, Malibus, or whatever it is they drive when they're not watching reruns of Veronica Mars or Gilmore Girls.

By all means, please bring this imaginary Vette to Columbus and rack up those tickets. Someone who is dumb enough to void the warranty on an $80K car by adding a supercharger is either a liar or trying to compensate for a shortcoming. I'm betting on the first.

Best Vehicle: is my 2000 4 cyl. 4X4 Toyota Tucoma. 200,000 miles and it runs like a new truck and gets great MPG. It also sails through snow like an Artic Cat sled. I agree with Japan Knows Best 100%.

Worst Vehicles: Ford Mustangs and Chevrolet Corvettes, because they cause mullets to veer completely off the subject for which the article was intended. If any of these people arguing over what kind of car is better do infact race on public streets, I hope their vehicles end up in the impound yard where they belong.

Don't you compromise my family's safety because you feel the need to be stupid in a smart zone.

TO zo6 this i take it your drive a powerwheels from walmart. The car is 70-80k brand new but i got mine for 55k used from rpm transmission in indiana. And to iron first i really dont think i am going to be speeding outta control. Let me guess you never broke the law when you were younger? Prolly not you must be perfect like z06 this. And by the way money is not an object to me so yeah the warranty will be voided but if it blows then i will be looking for a forged one. Plan on July 24th.

i honestly wish i could live at home with my mom. but i 28yrs old have 2 kids and a wife to suport so growing up is all up to ZO6 this now. hopefully he'll understand that you dont need warranty on a vette since the engine its self is more reliable than a ford 4.6 or 5.2. I couldnt count how many times i see mustangs with chevy engines in them. Any ways mustangs are a dime a dozen just like a camaro so it doesnt matter. For ZO6 to be calling me or any body a poser i think you need to read the definition again. Here you go ZO6 if you need help: POSER - A baffling question or problem, or person who poses. This doesnt descibe me at all nor CLINT. hopefully you looked into the mirror this morning and found your answer.
