COLUMBUS -- The American Civil Liberties Union-Nebraska Foundation (ACLU) has closed its Platte County case file with regard to accusations of discrimination in the county’s marriage license procedures.

In a letter received July 2 by Platte County Attorney Sandra Allen, Legal Director Amy Miller, ACLU wrote: “This will acknowledge your letters in regards to the Platte County clerk’s marriage license requirements. You pointed to one factual correction regarding the I-9 form. You are correct, but the clerk did require the I-94 arrival and departure record up until recently.”

Miller’s review of the changes to the Platte County clerk’s Web site were acknowledged to have brought the county into compliance with the law.
