CHS Softball Meeting

COLUMBUS -- There will be a meeting held at Columbus High School in the cafeteria at 7 p.m. July 6 for all players and their parents interested in playing softball this fall.

CHS Booster Club Golf Tourney

COLUMBUS -- The CHS Discoverer Sports Booster Club Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 8 at the Elks Country Club.

Couples nine and dine at Quail Run

COLUMBUS -- Quail Run GOlf Course is holding a couples nine-hole scramble Sunday.

The scramble will start at 2 p.m. with a shotgun start.

Cost is $40 per couple, with non-passholders paying $50, and includes a cart, grilled rib-eye or chicken and a prize fund.

Cornhusker State Games

LINCOLN -- Cornhusker State Games officials have announced that online registration will remain open for all sports through Sunday.

The Games, which take place July 17-26 in and around Lincoln, feature competition in 63 sports for Nebraskans of all ages and abilities.

Scotus volleyball camp July 13-16

COLUMBUS -- The Scotus Central Catholic girls volleyball camp will be held July 13-16 for grades 5-12.

Grades 10-12 will hold camp from 8-11 a.m. Grades eight and nine will be from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Grades 5-7 will go from 2:30-5 p.m.

Camp cost is $35 and includes a T-shirt.

Scotus football camp starts July 6

COLUMBUS -- The Scotus Central Catholic football camp will begin July 6 for boys entering grades 3-12.

Grades 3-6 will hold camp from 1-2:30 p.m. July 6-9. Grades seven and eight will hold camp from 3-4:30 p.m. July 6-9, and grades 9-12 will go from 5-6:30 p.m. July 6-10.

Camp cost is $35 and includes a T-shirt.

Columbus Storm U12 tryouts

COLUMBUS -- The Columbus Blizzard Storm U12 girls soccer team will be conducting team tryouts on the evenings of July 7 and July 9.

Participants must be born between Aug. 1, 1996, and July 31, 1997.

Firecracker Classic July 5

HUMPHREY -- Steepleview Golf Course in Humphrey will be hosting its 12th annual Firecracker Classic Sunday.

The four-person scramble will have an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and features a 100 percent payout and multiple flag prizes.

Junior Raider Golf Camp July 20

COLUMBUS -- Central Community College-Columbus will offer a Junior Raider Golf Camp from 10:30 a.m.-noon July 20 at the Elks Country Club.

The camp is open to boys and girls in the second through 12th grades who want to learn more about using mid irons. The cost is $15.
