Viaduct takes shape with first of three arch sections By Adrian Sanchez asanchez@columbustelegram.comCOLUMBUS -- The first viaduct arch has been assembled and erected and is scheduled to be installed later this week. The change on the Columbus skyline caught the attention of dozens of residents who parked their vehicles near the construction site to see the erection of the first of three arch spans for the new viaduct. The work began Tuesday morning by Cramer and Associates Inc., and the three arch sections were in place by noon. The archway consists of two one-inch thick, 18-inch diameter steel pipes that, in total, weigh 800 pounds per foot.
