U.P. 844 steams across Nebraska

Union Pacific Railroad's No. 844, the last steam locomotive built for Union Pacific, traveled through eastern Wyoming, across Nebraska and western Iowa to celebrate railroad history and heritage at the Omaha area's Railroad Days celebration.

wich id of know it was coming through i wanted to get some pics. I just happened to be down to when it pulled up, so I hurried up ran home to get my camera and as i grabbed it it when by my house.

oh well maybe next time. Does anyone know if theres a way to find out when stuff like this is scheduled to happen?

also if anyone has any pics theyd like ot share id really like some.

#844 leaves Omaha for North Platte at 8:00 AM on June 24th, arriving at Grand Island at 11:01 AM. That should put it through Columbus around 9:45 AM give or take by my estimate.

Gosh! I didn't have any idea that there was a UP Rail Yard east of Columbus.

Those sneeky UP people certainly kept it very well hidden all these years.

However a crack investigative reporter from The Columbus Telegram was able to expose the secret location.
