Saturday, Mar 28, 2009 - 10:52:27 am CDT

People fear all sorts of things from snakes to heights to Friday the 13th. What are your phobias? Or, those of people you know? Hw do phobias affect daily living?

Public speaking. It keeps me from doing some things I would love to do. It actually takes medication for me to stay calm enough to talk before a group. Maybe hypnosis would help?

I really hate it when people get in "my personal space" Like when I am working on the computer and people stand behind and look over my shoulder- or have to get like 2 feet away from me to have a conversation! Back up!!!! Give me space!

I fear religion in all shapes and forms....science flies people to the moon, religion flies people into buildings. And anyone having to do with the nutty right wing anything. You people are so out of touch it is downright terrifying.

Michelle-You are the one that is out of touch! Look around at your community...I think that you should move to one of the coasts so that you can be with like minded people. Oh by the way that was a nice Maher quote. We the people of religion and conservative values dont bash you of no religion or any values...perhaps you should keep your opinions to yourself! Michelle here is a quote for you "THAT WHICH WE TOLERATE WE DESERVE" I will no longer keep my mouth shut I will not let you bash my religion or my values! You are the freak and you are out of touch.

Bugs, spiders, snakes (when not behind glass), and people in my space. I don't mind being in small spaces, as long as no one else is there with me. Like, in my dressing room, it's cram packed. I tend to freak out a bit. That's not claustrophobia, right?

Anonymous bloggers who claim to have a fear of Obama. They're showing their paranoid and/or racist tendencies.

I fear people like 'JSK' that can only think so narrow minded about citizens against Obama and his punishing the hard working American to give those that dont want to hold up their end a free handout. People that can only throw race in the mix and claim that if you are against Obama, you are a racist.

I fear that narrowmindedness and immaturity. I fear the liberalness that is taking ahold of this country and bringing it to its knees.

I fear the lack of respect our human race holds towards life.

As far as fearing Obama and his policies, I think this goes a long way in explaining the fear.

I recently asked my friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up.

She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?'

She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.' Her parents beamed.

'Wow...what a worthy goal.' I told her, 'But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50.

Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.'

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, 'Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?'

I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.'

Her parents still aren't speaking to me.

Dear poor sad cracker: So I have no values because I don't believe in God? See, you poor, ignorant soul, I don't need a book written by a bunch of sheepherders 2000 years ago to tell me to be a decent and kind human being. I would rather just use common sense and decency. Alas, common sense just ain't that common, is it? I only ask because you could obviously use a good dose yourself. I'm the ignorant one? Get a clue, and start being a decent human being just for the sake of being a decent human being, instead of going to church on Sunday, and bending over your business partner on Monday. Hypocrite.

Again Michelle just another nice Bill Maher quote. Do you have any original thoughts or do you just parrot catch phrases from a second rate commedian? I'm a happy and well informed member of society, I have served my country(retired military) and my community can you say the same? I think not! Heres a quote for you "THERE ARE NO ATHEISTS IN FOX HOLES"
To JSK it is so easy to drop the racist card why dont you try using a valid argument

I fear that President Obama won't be able to fulfill his desire to create a complete and utter nanny state where government controls the economy, business, health care and everything.

I'm too stupid to make my own decisions so I want the government to make them for me.

Fears and phobias are a trait exhibited mainly by conservatives that also believe in other fairy tale type horrors, like Christianity and Revelations.

Proud to be a Cracker - Michelle simply stated that religion can cause people to do crazy things like what happened on 9-11.

Also if you aren't religious you still have a moral code you live by. It is interesting that so many people need some sort of authority figure to be afraid of to keep in line.

Michelle's view isn't east coast or west coast it is the younger generation that is more informed. Sort of like how slavery was around then we saw how foolish it was.

Also that's great you served your country but that does not make you an expert on anything. In fact you have increased your odds at having substance abuse problems, needing psychiatry and committing crimes.

Michelle - you are far from being my phobia. You just need help - lots of help.

Out Granddaughter said this afternoon, "Today is Palm Sunday, and Jesus had to carry that heavy cross Himself"......I.....LOVE that guy." Learn the rest of the story Michelle. The help you need is Christianity's God. And a child shall lead them.
