Chick’s Night Out tonight

COLUMBUS -- Chick’s Night Out will be held from 4-8 tonight in downtown Columbus.

In-store specials will be offered at participating merchants.

Register for kindergarten

COLUMBUS -- St. Anthony Elementary School has scheduled its Kindergarten Round Up for Friday.

The sessions are at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Call the school office at 564-4767 for more information.

CHS band, Night Wing perform

COLUMBUS -- Columbus High School band students will join forces with Night Wing, the country/rock combo band of the United States Air Force Heartland of America band in a concert set for 7 p.m. Friday. The concert will be held at the Nantkes Performing Arts Center at the high school.

“Tickets to the event are free and are available at the CHS office or you can also get them at Joe and Al's Grocery,” said Jeff Peabody of Columbus High School. “You must have a ticket to get in.”

The students will rehearse with the band this afternoon, perform in concert with the band for the student body Friday morning and then join the band on stage for the one-hour concert.

Students performing with the band include Anna Steiner and Brianna Ritter, vocals; Blake Beiermann and Brennan Stavem, guitar; Ariel Widhalm and Kyle Oppliger, alto sax and Derek Sharman, trombone.
