I really don't care all that much about which bowl the Husker's go to this year. It is the fact that we are going to a bowl game and the players carry with them the pride that they are gaining the respect of other major football colleges. Last year when Pederson was fired and Osborne was put in his place I knew a plan for transformation was being put in place as I knew from the get go that Pederson was nothing more than an egotistical wonder in his own mind. Pederson actually told a former Husker player "when success returned at NU that people will "put up a statue of me." What Pedi didn't realize was that winning had returned under Solich who he had fired for having a 10 - 4 season. Fast forward 5 long years, when Callihan was canned by Osborne after the Colorado game I was ecstatic because the plan was going into action. Then when Osborne hired Pelini I was jumping for joy. However, I realized that it would take time to over come the mediocrity that was instilled by the Pedi and Calli regime.'"Over time, you create a culture," said Osborne, citing work ethic, loyalty, continuity, honesty and physical football as the trademarks of Husker football.'
- Tom Osborne, Omaha World Herald, April 14, 2007
However, I do "think" the Husker's will be contenders next year for the Big 12 Championship. Do I expect it - no - but I am willing to give it as long as it takes as long as there is a respectable coach at the helm. Callihan was anything but respectable. Calli was out for his own personal gain. He could careless how many Academic All Americans were on the team. In fact I would wager he didn't even have a clue what one was.
As far as a bowl game - I predict the Gator Bowl and a stand out victory.
not all that red-but...

I really don't care which game they go to-not exactly the #1 fan- but it would be cool if it were the Alamo Bowl since the CHS band is playing for it.Patsy

Hello, I think NE. will play in Gator Bowl against Georgia Tech. or Fla. State. My first bowl game was in 1975 when I ventured to the Fiesta bowl in tempe Arizonia. The stadium at that time had wooden bleacher seats in end zone for the Huskers. Now just look at the stadium now. PROGRESS. The people there were very friendly. That was my only bowl game. I also went to the Hula Bowl in Hawaii Xmas of 2005 although NE. didn't play in the bowl it was still fun.golfball
