The same as last year. I budget and plan for Christmas all year. When I get my tax refund in March, I save $1,500 (cash from the bank) of that for the following Christmas. I have been doing this for years and it works out great. I pay cash while Christmas shopping, and there are no surprises in January. I don't buy my kids toys all year long (except birthdays or little $1.00 things) and clothes are bought at the start of the new school year and then again for Christmas only. Christmas was the one time of year my parents gave us things we wanted - not needed - and I like doing the same for my kids. Happy Holidays!!

Will be about the same except that 95% of it will be done here in town. Just dont have the time to go out-of-town. I buy a lot of script from the school, that saves us on tuition and gives the school more $$$.
I always get my kids the things they want not what they need.
Merry Christmas!

For the 1st time in many years, I am looking forward to Christmas.
For all these years, kids think they have to have these huge gifts.
They spend on others then pay for it all year. I have never and will never go in debt for a power trip gift.

Our Christmas this year....if you didn't make it yourself, don't bring a gift, just yourself.

Life needs to be more simple, this is a wakeup call...take it and flourish.
Life will get better,
but first you have to wake up.

More this year but only slightly more. I actually had more $$ saved up this year because I was employed but my stocks crashed.

The common things or something I just happen to see while shopping like a nice tshirt will be bought in town. Common things = 20%. The rest will be bought online, mostly through amazon.com for books/dvds, newegg.com for computer parts, and summitracing.com for car performance parts.

I have already spent more than usual. Electronic gifts are getting more expensive. Shhhh! Don't tell my kids!
less to none

Less to none at all. With the economy the way it is its hard for the low middle class to save at all. Since when is Christmas about getting your kids all the gifts they want? I thought Christmas had a deeper meaning or have we gotten so lost in needing to have/give the best that we have forgotten what Christmas is all about?!

Personally for me and my wife Eri_ _. My and my 3 little wessel elves are going to have a very good Christmas this year..We're going to spend money on cookies, especially the santa ones..the wessel elves LOVE the santa ones. But with the less spending on food and clothes and health isurance this year Means MORE on Christmas presents for my three little elves..I love Christmas, time with my friends Chris N., Justin P, Justin W. and family..I can't WAITT for the white snow so me and my wessel elves can go have a snowball fight and make a snowangel!!!!! We Loveee Christmas!!!

May God bless you and your family this Holiday Season with your wish. May this Holiday be the best your children have ever had and with every passing year they get better. Amen.
The right perception

I think Laurie's letter gave me the correct perception. It's really not about the wordly gifts, it's our gifts from God of family, health, and friendship. If we have that we have everything.I hope I keep this in mind when I am franticley looking for just the right gifts for my long list. Laurie I will keep your family in my prayers.

Our Family is exchanging Recycled and/or Green presents this year. So I will be shopping at Cottonwood Mall, Hot Potato, Goodwill, and the Salvation Army Stores.
I am trying to not use the Credit Cards, and pay for everything in cash.
I will be spending more at the Grocery Store although I spent a $1.00/lb less for my turkey, and this year hopefully the neighbors dog won't eat my 20 lb turkey.
