Should "alcopops" have been banned?

Project Extra Mile Director Dianne Ribbe harshly criticized the state liquor commission for leaving beverages such as Mike's Hard Lemonade and Bartles & Jaymes in the same tax category as beer. (The alcohol content is similar.) What is your take on the plus or minus side of the PEM efforts.
