DAVID CITY -- A Columbus man died in a one-vehicle accident Friday.

Eric Sansoni, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident that occurred three miles north of David City on Highway 15.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident at 4:46 p.m.

Sansoni’s 1999 Toyota RAV 4 utility vehicle was found in a cornfield at the bottom of a steep embankment of the west side of the highway.

He had been ejected from the vehicle.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, the vehicle was south bound on Highway 15 when it started swerving and left the roadway. The vehicle then proceeded down the embankment, rolled and ejected the driver. Sansoni was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Seat belts were not in use and alcohol use is suspected.

The David City Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene.
