I do feel bad for not watching the whole game, but quit watching before half time. Bo has alot on his shoulders, and is dealing with the players on the team the best he can, I do believe this. Rest of this season is going to be tough and we are going to have to suck it up as best as we can. We will see how Bo will do for Nebraska football proram in the next two years with the players he can get. I do believe in him though,he tells you how he sees it and does not try to sugar coat it.....

Still a long way to go. I just hope the fans give Coach Pelini a few years to bring the Blackshirts and Nebraska toughness and pride back to the field.

What a joke. All the "Bo" hype was just that "hype"
He is not worthy to wear the Red.Tom you better get your thinking hat on and figure how to pull the program out of the tank.
Thank Goodnes for NU Baseball and Volleyball. At least they show some class in their sport.
Pelini is a big mouth, no class jerk.
Send him packin!

It took Calahan four years to destroy the Husker football program. It will take at least that to restore it. I have faith that we will return to a national powerhouse and be feared once again.

We need to have pride in and support our Huskers and the coaches. It is going to take some time to get the Big Red train rolling again.

It's going to be a long season. Patience and understanding is needed Husker Nation. 6-6 is looking very realistic.

Callahan failed to address defensive conscerns over the last 5 years. A small state like Nebraska will never get the top recruiting classes. T.O., ( and I hope pelini as well) understands that you need to recruit defense first, and make the offense work with the players that you do not need on defense. Calli recruited offense first and this will take 2 to 4 years to fix.

As I read some of these comments I am disgusted by the lack of team spirit. I believe in Bo Pelini, and I understand that it will take a few years for him to repair the damage caused by Callahan and Pedersen. Pelini has the right attitude. After the last two games he has taken sole responsibility for the losses, saying he was out coached. I think that shows class in and of itself. He does not blame the kids, Callahan, or his lack of experience. He says it was his fault! That shows me he believes that he can do a better job of coaching, and that is something that will get better in the next few years. Fed Up you should be ashamed of yourself for wanting to fire Bo after two losses. Grow Up! We are not always going to win.

I love this! The Husker Nation thinking we would be a national championship team because we got rid of Callahan. They forget that all Pelini has to work with is a team left over from the Callahan era. Give Bo a couple of seasons to get things back up to speed.

Most people who have posted are realists-Pelini and his staff are coaches, not miracle workers. They are on the right track, but it's going to take time people! Also, Missouri has the best team in their history, and could go all the way. Anyone who is bailing on Pelini already has never had to cleanup a huge mess left by someone else.
Givem them a chance

Bo the clown as I have heard him called in the past will get this taken care of. It won't be this year or next but he will win a big XII title at Nebraska. Yes Mizzou is very good if they can get past OU they may go all the way. Give him a few years to get the players he wants & watch our defensive return to glory. He has taken on a tough role to clean up the old coaches mess. He is not a quitter & T.O. will give him the time he needs & after a few years we will be holding everyone to under 30 points.

Fed up what are you talking about? all the hype? Nebraska went 5-7 last year, do you expect them to win the national championship the very next year. No coach in the country could do that. Stop being a bandwagon loser and support your team regardless. You sir, are the one that needs to show some class.

Nebraska is in trouble. They will probably win two more games and that is iffy. If they don't turn it around in the next couple weeks it is going to be a rough couple years. Bo Pelini is not a good recruiter and it will make it that much more difficult to recruit if you cant be respected. Since he has been coach, there has not been one decent recruit to verbally commit. I beleive it was the wrong hire. Move him to Defense Coor and get a big name that can recruit. No high school kid in america knows who Bo Pelini is............

My concern also is how are the players going to going into the next game with the hugh beating that was put on them engraved in their head? That is hard to rebuild on......
Stop Hugh
Oct 6, 2008 8:48 AM
MDS, Why can't we just tell Hugh to stop beating on our guys? This is just not fair, and I think someone needs to tell Hugh to stop this immediately! Better yet, can we get Hugh to play for our side?
WAHT DO YOU MEAN WHERE NOW
Oct 6, 2008 10:18 AM
Can you seriously be asking this question? Anybody with half a brain will be able to understand where the Huskers go now...and here it is:

Complete and utter MEDIOCRITY.

They might break into the top 25 from time to time, like this year when they start the year 3-0 after playing Eastern Michigan Diesel Tech and Troy State College of hair design. They might (MIGHT) make a run at the Big 12 North IF IF IF all the others have a bad year.

But can we finally get real, people? Has "acceptance" been the stage we have finally succumbed to now that we know that, after three different coaches, that the problem IS THAT THE ATHLETES THAT ARE COMPETITIVE IN DIVISION 1 ATHLETICES ARE NO LONGER INTERESTED IN HUSKER FOOTBALL?

You can give all the coaches all the time in the world...you can't win a drag race with a mini-van.

Some of you that say Nebr. football might not return may be right. TO. built a system over 21 years that was directly involved in the NC race 7 times. TO helped BD with two NC's, had three of his own, got cheated out of two more and gave one away! This state let someone like Stevy Pedy come in and throw the entire system out the window. It may never recover from such a bone headed move!

I thought EVERYONE had this game down in the loss column before the season started...Va Tech, too for that matter. Guess that 3-0 start made a few too many "dreamers" out there.

The rest of the season the Huskers should pick up three wins from these four: ISU, Baylor, K-State and Colorado.

I really think Mizzou is simply a heckuva good football team this year. Give them there due.

All we can ask Pelini of this year is to get the kids playing hard for four quarters. That would be a good start.

So one of the Huskers spit on Chase Daniel before the game? And the final score was 52-17? What an idiot.

Not only has your team nosedived into complete irrelevancy, they've become a bunch of dirtbags while doing it.

I hope you all never win a game again, and I'll personally be rooting as such.

Spit on the Heisman candidate and he lights you up for 52 points. NU, you are a joke.

Ptooey.
Kind of strange that Chase Daniel was not able to name the player that spat on him. Kind of hard to pin point who it might be when they only have 12" numbers on their backs! Talk about a dirt bag, Chase fills them shoes! His own coach said it was non-issue. Didn't know Chase was related to Chad May. I'd like to have heard Chase's comments if the likes of Jason Peters had laid one on him. He'd a been blowing snot bubbles out of his helmets ear hole! As far as a Heisman canadate, he deserves that award about as much as Eric Crouch did. Stats in these cases do not reflect the true talent of the player. Chase will never take a snap in the NFL. He can't line up 7 yards deep for every snap to keep his a$$ from meeting the turf in the NFL. As the great Jack Lambert said, "Quarterbacks should wear dresses". Looking at Chase on the side lines, I'd say he might have already wore one a time or two!
I hope youre not a real DOC
Oct 7, 2008 1:54 PM
Dear Doc,

The reason that Chase didn't say who it was that spat on him was because he, unlike the Huskers, has class. Also, I think, by running up a score and then LEAVING the game in the 3rd quarter, he went ahead and let his play do the talking.

A little upset about that loss, doc? We'll, there's plenty more to come. Hope your health insurance is paid up.

Oct 7, 2008 2:58 PM
To DOC,

You might want to read more into the Chase Daniel interview. He knew exactly what player it was. He had some class and didn't want to rat out someone and blow the entire thing out of proportion. I'm a huge Husker fan and I hope they turn it around because it ruins college football saturdays but I really have no hope for them. Bo was the wrong hire for the head coaching position. Nebraska needs a big name coach to help get recruits in the door. As you can see, players mainly win game, coaches help........
Doc
Oct 7, 2008 3:11 PM
To Hope youre not a real DOC:
Expected the loss, so it was no surprise. The only surprise was that Chase was lacking the anatomical parts that make him a man. He has no class as he is just plain and simple a liar.
Guess in your mind you think that Chase runs the the Missouri team and not Coach Pinkel as according to you your buddy Chase made the decision to leave the game. Instead of worrying about my health insurance, you better hope your buddy Chase has paid up health insurance before the Texas game. Unlike Nebraska, Texas has a defense and Chase's skirt is going to get a little soiled. Heck at 56 years old I have less of a gut on me that your paly Chase. You two don't have a thing, do you?
Doc
Oct 7, 2008 3:18 PM
Denver,
Why would I need to read more "into" Chase's interview. If he had class and didn't want to blow it out of porportion he would have never made it up. Read Coach Pinkel's comments. He came real close to calling Chase's acusations false.

Mizzou qb gets spit on and you blame him? Nice just like when Lawernce Phillips committed his crimes it was always the victims fault. You people are sick. Face it the Huskers are irrelavant in the world of College football. As far as Doc goes you are a sad soul. Your team is terrible so you hate on other teams. I GUESS MISSERY LOVES COMPANY. POOR GUY THE HUSKERS MIGHT NEVER BE GOOD AGAIN IN YOUR LIFETIME. DOES IT BOTHER YOU THAT YOUR TEAM IS BELOW AVERAGE AND WILL ONLY WIN 4 OR 5 GAMES THIS SEASON, OH WAIT..RESTORE THE ORDER(HA)
Doc
Oct 8, 2008 6:39 AM
You Husker haters are amazing along with being illiterate as you can not read the written word. If only I could type slower so you could understand. You aren't from Missouri are you? Never said I hate other teams nor have I said that the Huskers will "Restore the Order". One can only hope so. By the way, I doubt if Nebraska will win another two games. My comments were based on the factless and low class comments made by the Missouri quarterback. Coach Pinkel supports that fact. My only obsession with Chase is that he has a little trouble with the truth and has trouble running his mouth and spewing lies. However I do agree with Jack Lambert that QBs should wear dresses. Especially the ones that never line up under center for fear of getting laid out or slide before they can get tackled. Never remember Turner Gill, Eric Crouch or Scott Frost doing the sissy slide.
By the way I am a fan of the real Big Red....Oklahoma. Am now and always have been.

Good recruiting is the basis for a good football team. I just can't figure out why a good player would want to end up coming to Nebraska to play for Bo Pelini. I agree with Denver, Pelini was the wrong choice. One more win and some of you folks will be giving him coach of the year honors. It has been said... Big Red is Dead!

Does anyone on here remember when the Oklahoma Sooners stunk??? It wasn't that long ago. They brought in a coach that a lot of people didn't think could ever turn that program around. But wait, he has had a National Championship!!! I'm not saying Bo will ever have one, but who knows, but he will put his everything into trying to!!
As for, why would "great" players want to come to Nebraska, why would "great" players want to go to Oklahoma??? Not a lot of difference between the two places!!! I am a life long NU fan, tried and true, but you must admit, most Husker fans, in their hearts, are OU fans too, unless they are playin gNU!! We had such a great rivalry until the Big 12 ruined it. If you ask me, part of NU's problems started with the implementation of the Big 12, when Texas, with all their money was able to dictate the conference rules and have their way. We, as a state and university can't compete financially with that, look at NU's coaches salary, then look Texas' coach salary, not much comparison!!!! Money talks!!!!! But I still say, give Bo 4 to 5 years!!!
