Looking forward to fall ... season change Well, the fireflies are gone, the kids are back in school, and temperatures are falling a bit ... autumn must be just around the corner. I love this time of year when routines are re-established at school and nature prepares for a long rest. I have been asked which season is my favorite, and I’ve decided it’s the one that’s coming next! Summer was great, but now I’m ready for fall. There is something special about each of the four seasons, and I enjoy them all. Since there were no real “seasons” in Arizona (just “nice” and “hot as *&!!”) and in Southern California where I used to live, this is a big deal for me. As the temperatures drop a bit I begin to miss Arizona more because wintertime there is so pleasant. Once Columbus hits the 70s for high temps, it will feel like “Christmastime in Arizona” to me and I’ll be ready to go out and get a tree and go Christmas shopping! But for now I am looking forward to all things “Fall” like church bazaars, jumping in piles of leaves, squirrels hiding acorns, the smell of firewood, cleared cornfields, and lots of festive decorations around town. Growing up I always wanted to live somewhere that had all four seasons. Now I do! Lucky me! |
