COLUMBUS -- Scotus Central Catholic will crown its homecoming royalty at its home football game Friday.
The Shamrocks will host Centennial at Pawnee Park’s Memorial Stadium.
There are 12 candidates nominated for king and queen.
The following are biographies of each candidate.
• Macey Fuhr is the daughter of Rodney and Mary Jo Fuhr. She is captain of the soccer team, involved in S-Club, FBLA, Green Club, Campus Ministry, volleyball, basketball, yearbook, is an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, participated in two St. Isidore Youth Group mission trips and has been in dance at Lynette’s Dance Studio for nine years. Awards she has received include lettering in soccer, top honors in health and computer applications III, Honorable Mention All-State in soccer, has been on the A honor roll throughout high school and also chosen as Lion’s Club student of the month. She plans to attend college to pursue a degree in the medical field.
• Megan Kresha is the daughter of Kathie and Tony Kresha. She is active in band, Shamrock Singers, S-Club, Art Club, Campus Ministry, softball, track, Thespians, is a member of the Speakers Bureau and the St. Bonaventure Godparents group. Awards she has received include team captain of softball, vice president of Thespians, All-Conference in softball, letter winner in track and softball, and has been on the B honor roll. She plans to attend a four-year university and study physical therapy and sports medicine.
• Taylour Kumpf is the daughter of Rex and Liz Kumpf. She is president of student council, member of National Honor Society, FBLA, S-Club, mock trial, president of Green Club, Art Club, school newspaper, soccer, swimming, cross country, has been on the “Straight A” honor roll for four years, mock trial letter winner, captain of the swim team, district mock trial champion, academic all-conference for three years, St. Isidore Youth Group mission trips, is a blood donor and worked for Habitat for Humanity. Awards she has received include being a class officer and a letter winner in soccer, swimming and cross country. She plans to attend Boston College or Gonzaga to pursue a career in either biology or journalism.
• Ashley Paprocki is the daughter of Mel and Kate Paprocki. She has participated in volleyball, track, FBLA, National Honor Society, Green Club, S-Club, helped coach YMCA volleyball, was a blood donor and assisted at the St. Bonaventure Burger Bash and at St. Isidore’s Bazaar. Awards she has received include Academic All-Conference in track, All-State Honorable Mention and All-Conference First Team in volleyball, track letter winner, A honor roll for four years, placed 3rd and set a school record in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the state track meet, was a volleyball letter winner and was a member of the state championship bowling team for two years. She plans to attend either University of Nebraska-Lincoln or the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in physical therapy.
• Kelli Schumacher is the daughter of Gene and Chris Schumacher. She has participated in volleyball, track, mock trial, National Honor Society, Campus Ministry, yearbook, Art Club, is a member of the St. Bonaventure Godparents group, has helped at the St. Isidore’s Bazaar and participated in St. Isidore’s Youth Group mission trips. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
• Jennifer Williams is the daughter of Tom and Tami Williams. She has participated in student council, FBLA, Shamrock Club, yearbook, Book Club, Green Club, is a student aide, has been the volleyball and track manager for four years, has helped at the St. Bonaventure burger bash, volunteered for the blood mobile and is a member of the St. Bonaventure Godparent program. Honors she has received include A honor roll, B honor roll and top honors in personal finance I. She plans to attend Southeast Community College and transfer to a four-year school to pursue a degree in business administration.
• Chase Beiermann is the son of Jim and Sue Beiermann. He has participated in football, basketball, soccer, S-club, Green Club, FBLA and is a member of the St. Bonaventure Godparent program. Awards he has received include A honor roll, Academic All-Conference in football and basketball, Honorable Mention All-State in football and basketball, and has letters in football, basketball and soccer. He plans on majoring in the business or medical field.
• Tony Duren is the son of Todd and Lisa Duren. He has participated in football, cross country, basketball, track, National Honor Society, student council, FBLA, Green Club, Campus Ministry, S-Club, yearbook, teacher/office aide, is the senior class president, helping at the St. Anthony Bazaar, blood mobile, tutoring and has participated in two St. Isidore Youth Group mission trips. Awards he has received include “Straight A” honor roll, Academic All-Conference, Scotus Student Council Scholarship recipient, Academic All-State, and earned letters in football, track and basketball. He plans to attend a four-year college to obtain a degree in engineering or education.
• David Gokie is the son of Jeff and Cathy Gokie. He has participated in soccer, CHS tennis, Mock Trial, campus ministry, National Honor Society, S-Club, FBLA, student council, is a class officer, has helped at the St. Isidore Bazaar, American Cancer Society, Tomorrow’s Leaders Today and is a member of the St. Bonaventure Godparents group. Awards he has received include most-improved soccer player, soccer defensive MVP, and is an officer in NHS and campus ministry. He plans to attend a four-year college.
• Bill Kurtenbach is the son of Bill and Cathy Kurtenbach. He has participated in football, soccer, Green Club, National Honor Society and has helped at the St. Isidore Bazaar. Awards he has received include the most valuable underclassman and offensive MVP in soccer, and has lettered in football and soccer. He plans to attend a four-year school and study physical science.
• Jared Ostdiek is the son of Duane and Kim Ostdiek. He has participated in student council, S-Club, campus ministry, National Honor Society, is a letter winner in tennis, basketball and soccer, has been a member of Tomorrow’s Leaders Today, Community Youth Service Group and St. Bonaventure Godparents group, he has participated in two St. Isidore’s Youth Group mission trips, referees AYSO soccer, and has been a confirmation retreat team leader. Awards he has received include “Straight A” honor roll, Academic All-State, Academic All-Conference, All-State Honorable Mention in soccer, top honors in biology and speech, and the Sertoma Alter Server Award. He plans to attend a four-year college.
• Kirby Reardon is the son of Terry and Robin Reardon. He has participated in football, basketball, track, Mock Trial, S-Club, Green Club, FBLA, has participated in several St. Isidore Youth Group mission trips, has been on the B honor roll and has lettered in football, basketball and track. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in business management.
