CRETE -- Bobbi Hoefelman went 2-for-2 with a double to lead Lakeview to a 7-3 road win over Crete.

Telegram Super senior Jenna Alswager posted three strikeouts and yielded three runs of four hits in the circle.

“It’s nice to get any conference win on the road,” Lakeview coach Dave Prokesh said. “Crete is a scary team. They don’t have a glittering record, but they have played a lot of great teams tough this year.”

Both teams plated a run in the fourth inning, but the Viqueens (11-6) opened the game up by crossing four runs in the top of the fifth inning.

Prokesh said he was impressed with Hoefelman’s play.

“Bobbi missed a big chunk of the year with an injury, but it’s great to have her back in the lineup,” Prokesh said. “She had a big hit in our win against Aurora last week and performed well at the plate tonight.”

The Viqueens host Grand Island Northwest 6:30 p.m. today at the Lakeview High School Field.
