Ministries event set Saturday

COLUMBUS -- HellFighters Ministries is sponsoring “Sinners Independence Day” beginning with dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Coffee House, 2415 11th St.

Participants will enjoy praise, worship and testimonials, a free dinner and fellowship with live music provided by an Omaha group.

Weeklong retreat slated for Center

SCHUYLER -- The St. Benedict Center is offering a Guided/Directed Retreat beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday and ending at 10 a.m. July 12.

The retreat is designed to help participants find quiet time in prayer and reflection while enjoying the beautiful grounds and artwork at the Center. The group will meet daily for a conference and individually with one of the directors each day.

Mothers/daughters retreat July 12-13

SCHUYLER -- A retreat for mothers and their daughters ages 11-15 will take place at St. Benedict Center July 12-13.

The retreat will begin at 9 a.m. July 12 and end at noon July 13. The retreat, titled “BLOOM: Because Loving Ourselves and Others Matters,” provides opportunities for deepening the communication that is essential for growth into womanhood.

Weather permitting, there will be outdoor activities and a campfire. The total fee for mother and daughter, including tax is $132.02.

Salad luncheon at St. Anthony

COLUMBUS -- St. Anthony Church, 1719 Sixth St., will be holding a salad luncheon from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. July 24 at the social hall.

Luncheon will include salads, meatballs and a bake sale. Cost is $5.50 for adults, $3 for children 6-11 years, and children 5 and under are free.

Weekend retreat set for July 18-20

SCHUYLER -- The St. Benedict Center has scheduled a weekend retreat titled, “The Dance of Life,” July 18-20.

The retreat is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. July 18 and end July 20 after lunch. Using music and movement, this retreat offers exploration of how our bodies are sacred space where we co-create with God.

The program fee is $50; cost for room and board is additional.
