Ilene Anderson

COLUMBUS -- Ilene Marie Anderson, 80, of Columbus, died Friday, May 16, 2008, at her home.

Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bible Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Walker officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and noon-2 p.m. Tuesday, all at the church.

Ilene Marie Anderson was born Dec. 4, 1927, in Paddock to Frank A. and Frances (Johnson) Searles. She attended District #1 School and graduated in 1946. She taught at a country school by Center Union near O’Neill for one year. Then she was united in marriage to Percy Merrill Anderson on Aug. 26, 1948, in O’Neill by the Rev. Melvin Grosenbach. They moved to Columbus in 1953.

Ilene was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crocheting. She was a beloved wife and mother who lived to please the Lord in all things.

She is survived by: husband, Percy M. Anderson of Columbus; daughter, Sue Keyes of Columbus; daughter, Lynita (Merlin) Gehring of Columbus; daughter, Rachel (Kelvin) Walker of Columbus; son, Randy (Lorelie) Anderson of Columbus; son, Stephen (Janell) Anderson of Columbus; son, Jerry (Karen) Anderson of Columbus; son, Greg (Beth) Anderson of Columbus; son, Ricky (MaryAnn) Anderson of Columbus; son, Eric Anderson of Schuyler; brother, Austin (Gladys) Searles of Doniphan; brother, Zane (Beverly) Searles of Grands Pass, Ore.; sister, JoAnn (Larry) Wyatt of Richland, Wash.; 45 grandchildren; and 55 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by: father, Frank A. Searles; mother, Frances Searles; and sister, Grace Irene (Searles) Brock.
