COLUMBUS -- A live simulcast of a best-selling Christian author will give area residents the opportunity to hear Beth Moore’s message firsthand.
Highland Park Evangelical Free Church will be a host site Aug. 1-2 for Moore’s Living Proof Live 2008 Simulcast. Tickets for the event are available now.
Moore will be presenting her program from Louisville, Ky., and 600 churches across the nation are serving as host sites for the simulcast. Highland Park is one of three in Nebraska to do so, said Kevin Bennett, administrator at the church.
Bennett said the church has taken part in several of Moore’s Bible study programs, but has never been part of a national simulcast. Because they have had such a positive response to Moore’s programs that have been held in the past, Bennett said they wanted to offer the simulcast.
Moore’s program is scheduled for 6:30-9 p.m. Aug. 1 and 8:30 a.m.-noon Aug. 2. Tickets are available for $35 until July 10. After that date, cost will be $45, or $55 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the church, 4115 38th St., or online at www.highlandparkmin
istries.org.
Bennett said the program is geared toward women and focuses on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It will be interactive through prayer and worship. It is anticipated that between 800-1,000 people from all denominations will attend the event.
Moore’s mission, according to her Web site, is to “guide women everywhere into a richer, more fulfilling relationship with the Father.”
She is the author of several books, including Bible studies, and has taken her Living Proof Live conferences to 39 states since founding it in 1994.
Hy-Vee is the corporate sponsor of the simulcast in Columbus.
