COLUMBUS -- Columbus area youth ages 13-18 are invited to an informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. May 22 at the Columbus Family YMCA to learn about the Community Youth Christian Choir.
The new choir will be led by Dennis Parker, who provides musical support and custodial services to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Auditions will be held at 4 p.m. May 30.
Parker said the choir will focus on contemporary Christian music with some traditional and updated favorites. He said a few skits also will be included in the production.
Parker said the choir is open to “churched or un-churched teens of all denominations.”
Once established, the group will be available for civic and community celebrations, church programs, holiday and other special programs, and celebrations.
Parker is looking for youth and adult leaders, instrumentalists, vocalists, speakers, artists, drama enthusiasts and stage hands.
