COLUMBUS -- Roger Reinke, 62, of Columbus, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at his home in Columbus.

The funeral service will be Saturday, May 10, 10 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, rural Columbus. Visitation will be on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home, 2109 14th St., and on Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at the church with a family prayer service at 9:45 a.m.

Roger Reinke was born September 30, 1945, in Columbus, to Martin and Edna (Dicke) Reinke. Roger attended rural District 2 school and graduated from Columbus High School in 1963. On August 29, 1970, Roger married Marlene Smith at St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek. Roger was a farmer and also worked at Behlen Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, and drove a grain truck for Martensen Trucking. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of the Fire Department for over 30 years.

Roger is survived by his wife, Marlene Reinke of Columbus; daughter, Kristina (Shawn) Linden of Cairo; son, Dana Reinke of Columbus; daughter, Melissa (Derek) Salak of Columbus; three grandchildren, Colby, Logan, and Christopher; sister: Roseann (Jim) Ninas of Atkinson; brother, Roy (Maxine) Reinke of Columbus; and mother-in-law, Irene Smith of Columbus.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Edna Reinke; son, Christopher Reinke; sister, Renee Van Diest ; and father-in-law, Lloyd Dean Smith.
