Verna Loseke Verna Loseke COLUMBUS -- Verna Loseke, 83, of Columbus, died Tuesday May 6, 2008, at Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2008, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1470 24th Avenue, Columbus with the Rev. Kurt Ebert and the Rev. Art Brinkmeyer officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., Thursday, May 8, at McKown Funeral Home Chapel, 2922 13th Street, and continues Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Immanuel Lutheran Church. There will be a Family Prayer Service at 10:15 a.m., Friday, also at the church. Interment will be in the Roselawn Cemetery. There will be a lunch served at the Immanuel Lutheran Fellowship Hall Verna was born January 18, 1925, in Elgin to Louis and Emma (Suhr) Mueller. She moved into Platte County as a child and graduated from Monroe High School in 1942. She married Siegfried Loseke and to this union three children were born. The couple farmed until 1962 when they moved into Monroe for five years before moving to Columbus. Verna worked at Becton Dickinson for several years. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1962 and loved sewing, cooking, bowling, and her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Carroll Loseke of Columbus; daughter Dorene (Vernon) Wood of Bassett; brother, Irvin Mueller of Columbus; two grandchildren, Natalie Ady of North Platte and Chuck Wood of Osage, Wyo.; three great-grandchildren, Rebecca Ady of North Platte, Dani and Oscar Wood of Osage, Wyo. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Siegfried Loseke; infant daughter, Helen Loseke; brother Ernest Mueller; and sister Lilly Bitter.
