The girls of summer: Gwyneth Paltrow, Liv Tyler and Maggie Gyllenhaal

It was a rainy and cold Valentine's week here on the East Coast but we were already thinking summer movies. In fact, we've already done a fun photo shoot with three of the big-name actresses you'll see in the sure-to-be blockbuster summer fare: Gwyneth Paltrow (Iron Man), Maggie Gyllenhaal (Batman: The Dark Knight) and Liv Tyler (The Incredible Hulk). These three talented women and young mothers gathered in New York and our deputy photo editor Sarah Claxton was there to make sure the day went smoothly. That's not as easy as it sounds, considering there's a walk-in closet full of designer clothes, a stylist, photographer assistants, hair and makeup people, catering and...well, you get the picture.

Sarah's day began with an ice storm in Washington, D.C. and rain in NYC but as she tells it, "Luckily, I had stolen my roomate's umbrella in the rush out the door at 6 a.m. so my hair didn't suffer the effects of

the torrential downpour. You want to look your best when standing in a room with three gorgeous women. I won't even tell you how long it took me to decide what to wear."

The shoot took place at a large studio in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan and Sarah, with photo editor

David Baratz, began by reviewing wardrobe options - a task Sarah says "will make any girl dream of being a stylist.  We had a walk-in closet and racks and racks of the most beautiful designer dresses."  The stylist had narrowed down choices to the ladies' favorites. David, photographer E.J. Camp  and Sarah were able to choose a couple different outfits in a purple palette. "They really complimented each other and each of the girls — not that it's difficult for them to look amazing."  Each of the very tall stars had her own hair and makeup person so it didn't take too long to get them all looking even more perfect.  "They looked fantastic in their dresses and two were wearing heels," says our petite 5-feet-2-inch Sarah. "For me it was like staring at giants."

For the first set-up there was upbeat music (but, no, no Coldplay or Aerosmith.) Says Sarah: "It was high energy and super fun.  We were on that set for about half an hour, then we had a quick wardrobe change into more beautiful dresses but same color scheme and went to the next set. This was a little more relaxed.  We listened to some Aimee Mann and some acoustic covers. It felt really intimate and comfortable, a great ambience."

Given all the people and the tasks at hand, the ladies seemed really comfortable, says Sarah. "They really

seemed like old friends, so sweet and a lot of fun."

I am most interested in the Street storyline. He is the best character on the show and was severely underused in season two.

My biggest rooting interest in the show is for Saracen and Julie to get back together!

Will Jason Street marry Erin the waitress, who he shared a one nighter with?

I would love to see some more scenes with Matt Saracen in it. I want to know how he's doing after his whole, "why does everybody leave me?" scene.

Tyra and Landry; an unusual and unlikely pairing brought about by extreme cicumstances and Landry's unwavering obsession.

I'm anxious to see how EVERYTHING pans out on Friday Night Lights. Also would like to see a few of the more minor characters developed like Buddy Garrity and Santiago. Maybe Santiago will be Brookes next college football project since Smash is off to a smaller college? Most anxious about Tim/Lyla/Chris triangle though. With coach Taylor as his mentor I think with a few speed bumps in the road he will become a great man.

I really look foward to the show in GENERAL, but especially Matt Saracen. He's great, and I want to see what happens after his "meltdown" scene. Also- it would be the GREATEST THING IN THE WORLD if he and Julie got back together. Seriously, I cried when they broke up!! :( :( I too, am interested in if Street (Jason) is going to marry the woman carrying his child. YOU JUST CAN'T END LIKE THAT! There's still MUCH more story to be told!!!

I just want Friday Night Lights back on the air. I don't care what network- as long as I can get it- Just bring it back on! I loved all the story lines- especially Matt & Julie's.. Why is Edie Falco's picture next to this story? Does she love Friday Night Lights, too?

Oh, how wonderful! I was very worried FNL wouldn´t get a third season, but they can´t leave it like this. We need some closure.
And somehow I would really like to see Tim and Julie togehter. Definitely not Tim and Lyla, anyhow! Lyla can stay with her Christian boyfriend.

FNL is clearly better than any other drama NBC has on their network. All of the story lines are interesting, but anything involving Jason Street and all the adversity he has to overcome far outweighs the constant assault of romantic hook-ups on the show. Jason Street IS the "full heart" of Friday Night Lights.

I think the show will be better off and have a longer life if they bring new younger people in. As this group moves out of high school a new group should be included.
Season 2 was good, but I think season 1 was much better and if the quality of season 1 had continued to season 2 the rating problems might not be a issue right now. Tyra and Landry bit this year was a bit over the top and really took away from the show. FNL needs to go back to good looking star football players get the hot girls, and the geeks are still dating the geek girls. More like real life. In real life Tyra would never even look at Landry, sorry thats just the way it is, and this story line has almost killed the show.
