Colorado woman killed in 2-vehicle accident

DAVID CITY — A 51-year-old Colorado woman was killed Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle collision at the junction of Highways 15 and 92 south of David City.

Sandra Gridley of Golden, Colo., died at Butler County Health Care Center in David City following the 10:21 a.m. accident, according to information released by the Butler County Sheriff’s Department.

A 2006 Dodge sport utility vehicle driven by Gridley collided with a semi-trailer truck loaded with hay driven by 36-year-old Ronald Turner of Hazelwood, Mo., at the junction of the highways, the sheriff’s department reported.

Gridley’s SUV was stopped at the stop sign on Highway 15 before pulling out into the path of Hazelwood’s semi-truck eastbound on Highway 92, Sheriff Mark Hecker said.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time the accident.
