Platte County Food Pantry -- General Help

The holidays are here and the food pantry needs volunteers to help unload items and stock shelves. Call Pat Cool at 563-4544

Platte Valley Literacy Association -- Tutor/GED Assistance/ESL assistant

Volunteers are needed to provide assistance to students to help them improve their literacy skills. Volunteers meet with students 1 hour a week and provide a good learning environment using respect, encouragement and motivation. Call Bill Elton at 564-5196

Central Nebraska Community Services -- Early Childhood Programs

Do you enjoy working with kids? CNCS is looking for volunteers to help in different areas, including classroom volunteer, bus monitor, material preparation, and clerical assistance. Call Tammy Classen at 564-1124.

Salvation Army -- Bell Ringers

The Salvation Army is looking for individuals or groups to work as bell ringers this Christmas season! Bell ringers will be at different sites in Columbus from November 9th to December 24th. If you would like to help out the Salvation Army this Christmas, call Neal Clayton at 1-402-992-8865.

American Red Cross -- Prairie Valley Chapter

The Red Cross has many volunteer opportunities available including:

*Canteen Host/Post Donor Care -- Provide attention, care, and refreshments to donors following blood donation

*Health and Safety Data Entry Clerk -- Assist with Health and Safety computer entry needs.

*Donor Receptionist -- Welcome donors and provide a professional registration process for blood collection

Salvation Army -- Store help

Volunteers are needed to help with various store duties, including:

*Sort and hang clothing

*Price clothing

*Putting out merchandise

*rotate stock

*General cleaning

*Accepting donations
