OSCEOLA - Dion Kovar scored 22 of his 34 points in the fourth quarter to help Rising City eliminate a double-digit deficit in the final quarter as the Terriers topped Prague 64-62 Tuesday in the first round of the Class D2-2 subdistrict.
Rising City will face fourth-ranked Dodge tonight at Osceola High School.
The Terriers fell behind early and didn't score more than 13 points in any of the first three quarters. However, the offense picked up in the final stanza as Rising City posted 29 points to topple the Panthers.
Rising City's comeback was also aided by Prague's 11-for-21 performance from the free throw line in the fourth period. For the game, the Panthers went 20 of 41 from the charity stripe.
The Terriers struggled shooting from outside for the first three quarters, but Kovar hit two treys and Derek Prososki added another in the final period to spark the comeback. Rising City finished the night 5-for-30 (16.7 percent) from beyond the arc.
James Wightman added 14 points and eight rebounds. Kovar also recorded 18 rebounds and three assists.
Ben Wesley paced Prague with 18 points.

DAVID CITY - Lance Vandenberg and Neil Sabata each made field goals in overtime to help David City Aquinas slip past Cross County 40-38 in the first round of the Class C2-5 subdistrict at David City High School.
Aquinas advances to face top seed High Plains today at 6 p.m. Fullerton and East Butler play in the other semifinal.
The Monarchs took a 21-13 lead into the locker room after holding Cross County to three field goals in the first half. The Cougars supplemented their scoring by going 7-for-12 from the free-throw line before intermission.
Cross County charged back by winning the third period 15-7 to tie the score at 28-all entering the fourth quarter, which also ended in a dead heat.
In overtime, Tim Relihan scored the Cougars only points as Aquinas went ahead for good on Vandenberg's bucket.
Jake Miriovsky paced the Monarchs with 17 points as he drained three 3-pointers.
Isaac Moore scored 11 points to pace Cross County as Relihan added nine points.

NORFOLK - Newman Grove outscored Humphrey High 25-8 in the first quarter to cruise to a 61-41 victory in the first round of the Class D1-4 subdistrict Monday at Norfolk Catholic.
The Bluejays advance to play fourth-ranked Leigh in today's semifinals at 6:15 p.m.
Ryan Nathan scored 11 of his game-high 23 points in the first period to pace Newman Grove. Nathan finished with four 3-pointers, five steals and four assists. Trey Frauendorfer added 16 points and 10 rebounds, including five boards on the offensive end.
Dylan Paczosa and Tyler Christensen each scored 13 points to led the Bulldogs. Derek Korth chipped in 12 points in the loss.

LINCOLN - Kyle Hilger scored 16 points for David City, but it wasn't enough as the Scouts fell to Raymond Central 47-41 Monday in the first round of the Class C1-4 subdistrict at Lincoln North Star.
The Mustangs led 11-6 after the first quarter, and after David City made a charge in the second period, they extended the lead to seven points entering the final quarter. Raymond Central went 6-for-7 on free throws in the fourth period to seal the victory.
Aaron Schmid added 10 points for the Scouts. Alex Holley scored 12 points to lead three Raymond Central players in double figures.
The loss ends David City's season with a 9-10 record.
