Put the scrabble and checker games on the shelf.
Thanks to home basketball courts, climbing walls, pinball machine rooms and a variety of other popular new recreation rooms, a lone pool table will no longer suffice.
The one that caught my eye was the rec room with two full size bowling lanes. Starting at a mere $19,000, you too could have this in your rec room.
If it is good enough for actress Sandra Bullock, it ought to be good enough for us. I think hers was more like $88,000. It's just money.
Maybe the following kegler's have some secret lanes in their homes. Ron Taylor, Mike Becker and Pat Force all recorded a 277 at Westbrook Lanes. What a trio. Jim “the Kid” Murcek rolled the high series of 739.
Bowler of the week honors go to Larry Haiar, Lori Wessel and senior Don Gablenz.
Haiar had a 723 with games of 223, 233 and 267, Wessell shot a 584 with a 245, and Gablenz scored a 596 with a 242 high game.
Shelli Palmer recorded high women's series, a 616.
At Boulevard Lanes, Chad Horak claims the spotlight with his 706 and 278. Joining him in the limelight are senior Harry Rosche, who rolled a 522 with a 244, and Kay Kerkhove, who shot a 235 en route to her 538.
The men's high series, a 736, was bowled by Jeff Nitz, and the women's high series was shot by Judy Wurdeman, a 592.
Until next week, many tournaments are coming. Get ready to bowl.
